What is Gastroenterology?
Gastroenterology is the study of medicine focused on the digestive system. The digestive system, also referred to as the GI (gastrointestinal) tract, consists of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine. To which also include the accessory digestive organs such as the liver, pancreas and gallbladder.
When to see a G.I. Specialists:
A Gastroenterologist may help with symptoms such as:

A Colonoscopy is considered essential in accurately determining the cause of colorectal pain, swelling, or hemorrhaging, as well as identifying colorectal cancer and its precursors.
General guidelines recommend every patient get a Colonoscopy screening at the age of 45, or 40 if you have family history of polyps or colorectal pathology.
